"Let's work together to ensure the high performance of our buildings"
In France today, the building sector accounts for almost 44% of final energy consumption and emits 23% of national emissions. Reducing CO2 emissions from buildings has therefore become essential if we are to achieve our climate objectives. To achieve this, it is vital to take greater account of environmental and performance issues in both new build and renovation projects, in order to make the transition to a resource-efficient, climate-friendly future.
The purpose of the BUS2 project?
To structure a common strategy by proposing guidelines and actions to support the performance market in construction and renovation, to encourage the recruitment and retention of workers in the sector, and to develop training associated with the necessary skills upgrading of professionals in the sector in the face of the challenges of the ecological transition.

Diagnosis of requirements in terms of jobs professions and skills up to 2030
The diagnostic report, published in 2023 as part of the Build Up Skills (BUS2-France) project, sets out the opportunities, obstacles and challenges facing the building sector if it is to meet the target of reducing France's greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 compared with 1990 levels (Fit for 55) and move towards carbon neutrality and a building stock renovated to Low-Energy Building or equivalent standards by 2050.
Proposed guidelines and actions from the BUS2 community
Faced with environmental challenges and recruitment problems in the construction sector, the Build Up Skills 2 Community, made up of players in the construction, training and employment sectors, has drawn up 17 proposals for national action on a regional scale, the fruit of extensive consultation in collaborative workshops between stakeholders.
